Jaguares - UNI Basket 104-95 An interesting game for Jaguares (12-3) which hosted in Managua 3rd placed UNI Basket (9-5). Second ranked Jaguares managed to get a 9-point victory 104-95. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of UNI Basket. Jaguares dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to UNI Basket's 36. They outrebounded UNI Basket 47-35 including 34 on the offensive glass. Jaguares players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Devin Harris (195-1995, college: Jacksonville) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import center Leon Hampton (213-1995, college: Stillman) helped adding 17 points and 13 rebounds. Hampton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Vansdell Thomas (185-1986) with 26 points and 5 rebounds and Puerto Rican point guard Luis Rivera (180-1998) scored 24 points. Five Jaguares and four UNI Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jaguares maintains second place with 12-3 record having just two points less than leader Real Esteli. UNI Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. It was an exceptional evening for American-Panamanian Adalberto Rojas (200-1986) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Zacarry Douglas (203-1995, college: NCCU) accounted for 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Cuban Yosniel Morales (196-1987) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Telvin Gabriel (198-1994, college: Lander) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Rivas in the defeat. Five Leon and four Rivas players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leon moved-up to sixth place. Loser Rivas keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. The visitors from Jinotega managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected easier game. It was a good game for Dominican center Jose Familia (201-1998) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Dalton Cacho (200-1993) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Puerto Rican forward Christian Negron (201-1998, college: GVSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and American guard Jeremy Agosto (177-1997) added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Caribbean Coast. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brumas have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place.
