Round 4 most important game was a victory of Tipitapa over one of their biggest challengers Leonas 77-67 on Sunday night. Tipitapa forced 21 Leonas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Leonas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Clenia Salazar (-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds. The former international forward Shannen Peralta (-2003) contributed with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Jocelyn Taylor (183-1997, college: SEMO) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for Leonas. Leonas' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tipitapa (2-4) moved-up to third place, which they share with UNI. Leonas at the other side dropped to the bottom position with five games lost.
An interesting game for Real Esteli (4-1) which played road game in against one of their biggest challengers UNI (2-4). Second ranked Real Esteli had an easy win 73-42. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Janae Barnes (183-1995, college: Johnson CCC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Nelly Rapalo who added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side Jamaican swingman Antoinette Bannister (178-1993, college: ECU) responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Esteli have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 4-1 record behind leader Jaguares. UNI at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Tipitapa.
