LSBF Round 7: Jaguares defeat Real Esteli in the game between Top 4 teams- September 14, 2023Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
An interesting game for Jaguares (6-2) which played road game in against their biggest opponent Real Esteli (6-2). First ranked Jaguares managed to get a 9-point victory 64-55. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Jaguares held Real Esteli to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Jaguares forced 25 Real Esteli turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jessica Fairweather (180-1990, college: Queens, NY) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals (made all of her seven free throws). Her fellow American import swingman DAsia Chambers (182-1992, college: Slippery Rock) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Honduran forward Nelly Rapalo (173-1999) answered with 12 points and 7 assists for Real Esteli. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jaguares maintains first place with 6-2 record, which they share with defeated Real Esteli. An interesting game for Tipitapa (4-4) which hosted in 4th placed UNI (2-6). Third ranked Tipitapa had an easy win 70-41. It was a great evening for the former international forward Shannen Peralta (-2003) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Shaneel Antonio helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. Tipitapa's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side point guard Nahomy Castillo (165-2007) responded with 11 points. Tipitapa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 4-4 record having just two points less than leader Jaguares. UNI lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Leonas. The most impressive performance of 7th round was 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by Clenia Salazar of Tipitapa.
