The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Jaguares as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Jaguares smashed 4th placed Leonas in Managua 87-44. Jaguares forced 23 Leonas turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Destiny Pitts (178-1999, college: Texas A&M) who scored 27 points and 4 steals. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) chipped in 8 points. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Jennifer Espinoza (-2005) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jaguares (11-2) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Leonas at the other side keep the fourth place with ten games lost.
Top ranked Tipitapa (11-3) recorded its third loss in Managua. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Real Esteli (9-6) 84-68. It was a good game for American center Danielle Adams (185-1989, college: Texas A&M) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 19 rebounds. D'Asia Chambers contributed with 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. The former international forward Shannen Peralta (-2003) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds for Tipitapa. Real Esteli maintains third place with 9-6 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Jaguares. Defending champion Tipitapa dropped to the second position with three games lost.
