The most exciting game of round 7 in the LSBF took place in Esteli. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placed Real Esteli (6-3) to second ranked Nicaragua Femenil (6-2) 81-78 in the game for the first place. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Nicaragua Femenil looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American center Anyia Pride (185-1998, college: Shawnee St., agency: Ladies 1st) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists. helped adding 24 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Honduran guard Nelly Rapalo (173-1999) responded with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Real Esteli's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nicaragua Femenil have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Real Esteli at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. Nicaragua Femenil are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Leonas (#4) in Managua in the next round. Real Esteli will play at home against Jaguares and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 5-3 record behind leader Nicaragua Femenil. Leonas at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Jaguares will play against league's second-placed Real Esteli on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leonas will play against the league's leader Nicaragua Femenil and hope to get finally their first victory.
