TBN Round 11 (Regular Season): Flecheros get another victory

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Undefeated leader Flecheros delivered the tenth consecutive win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 12th ranked La Libertad (3-6) 86-64. Flecheros forced 19 La Libertad turnovers and outrebounded them 57-44 including 22 on the offensive glass. Flecheros looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by La Libertad's players. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Francisco Garth (195-1999) who had a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. International Kevin Andino (186-2002) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Erling Lopez (-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Flecheros (10-0) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row, which they share with Leones and UAM Univ. La Libertad at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Frente.
The game in Puerto Cabezas supposed to be also worth to mention about. Leader Leones (10-0) played at the court of 8th ranked Mineros (5-6). Leones smashed Mineros 111-80. Elijah Allen orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. Harold Barberena contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Norvin Mairena answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for Mineros. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Leones. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with UAM Univ. and Flecheros. Mineros at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with six games lost.
A very close game took place in Puerto Cabezas (derby !!!) between Sebaco and Pescadores. Sixteenth ranked Sebaco (3-5) got a very close victory on the road over 15th ranked Pescadores (3-9). Sebaco managed to escape with a 1-point win 57-56 on Sunday evening. It was a great evening for Esmilder Rojas who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Danny Padilla responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. Pescadores' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Sebaco moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Pescadores dropped to the sixteenth position with nine games lost.

Other games of round 11 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Leon was crushed by Brumas in Jinotega 173-56. La Trinidad beat San Isidro at home 87-74. Los Bufalos lost to Tipitapa on the opponent's court 71-76. Americas 2 managed to outperform UNAN de in a home game 77-72. Tigres lost to undefeated UAM Univ. on the road 56-72.
The best stats of 11th round was 11 points and 8 assists by Dwight Real of Tigres.



Mineros - Leones 80-111

The game in Puerto Cabezas supposed to be also worth to mention about. Leader Leones (10-0) played at the court of 8th ranked Mineros (5-6). Leones smashed Mineros 111-80. They outrebounded Mineros 53-37 including 21 on the offensive glass. Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Elijah Allen orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. The former international Harold Barberena (179-1982) contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Norvin Mairena answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and Jose Mccurbia added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Mineros. Five Leones and four Mineros players scored in double figures. Brumas - Leon 173-56

There was no surprise in Jinotega where 18th ranked Leon (2-8) was crushed by fifth ranked Brumas (9-1) 173-56 on Sunday. Brumas dominated down low during the game scoring 124 of its points in the paint compared to Leon's 44 and had 22 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Leon only scored six points from the stripe. Brumas forced 54 Leon turnovers and outrebounded them 58-39 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brumas looked well-organized offensively handing out 45 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Leon's players. It was a great evening for international Juan Herrera (187-1996) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Herman Mullins (-2003) helped adding 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Five Brumas players scored in double figures. Juan Morales responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Kerling Meza Zelaya scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Brumas. They moved-up to fourth place. Leon lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Academia PLAV.

No shocking result in a game in Esteli where ninth ranked La Trinidad (5-4) defeated 21th ranked San Isidro (1-8) 87-74 on Sunday. Strangely San Isidro outrebounded La Trinidad 63-51 including 30 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Luder Hernandez (195-1995) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. point guard Mario Garcia (182-2000) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Anfearnnee Flemings responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Sidney Castaneda scored 15 points and 28 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for La Trinidad. They moved-up to eighth place. San Isidro lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the twenty first position with eight games lost.
