There was no surprise in Jinotega where 18th rankedLeon (2-8) was crushed by fifth ranked Brumas (9-1) 173-56 on Sunday. Brumas dominated down low during the game scoring 124 of its points in the paint compared to Leon 's 44 and had 22 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Leon only scored six points from the stripe. Brumas forced 54 Leon turnovers and outrebounded them 58-39 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Brumas looked well-organized offensively handing out 45 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Leon 's players. It was a great evening for international Juan Herrera (187-1996) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Herman Mullins (-2003) helped adding 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Five Brumas players scored in double figures. Juan Morales responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Kerling Meza Zelaya scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Brumas . They moved-up to fourth place. Leon lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Academia PLAV.
