Argentina celebrated 2014 ODESUR Games title. They overcame hosting Chile in the Final in Santiago de Chile. Marcos Delia (208-C-92) stepped up with 19 points to lead the winners. Argentina set the tone in the first frame. They went on a 25:4 run to secure a comfortable lead. Chile narrowed the gap in the second frame. They pulled within 16 points at the interval 23:39. But Argentina regained control in the third term. They went on a 20:13 rally and secured a massive 23-point lead at the final break. Argentina poured in 26 points in the fourth term and sealed the win at the end. Nicolas Romano (200-F-87) and Selem Safar (190-SG-87) produced 16 points each in the victory. Samuel Bravo (194-F-82) and Claudio Gallardo (180-PG-87) responded with 11 points each for Chile. Colombia clinched Bronze medals as they toppled Bolivia 80:72. Julio Cesar Ordonez (193-F/G-83) stepped up with 21 points for Colombia.
Argentina and Chile to fight for title in Santiago de Chile - Mar 16, 2014
Argentina wrapped up their ODESUR Games preliminary round campaign with another victory. They knocked down Chile 79:54 to ensure 4-0 record. Juan Emiliano Fernandez (196-G/F-91) and Nicolas Romani delivered 13 points each to pace the winners. Argentina secured a 34:19 halftime lead. They dominated throughout the second part of the game and raced to a well-deserved win. Selem Safar (190-SG-87) had 12 points for the winners. Jorge Schuler (199-F-87) responded with 14 points for Chile. Samuel Bravo (194-F-82) had 12 points in the loss. The teams will now meet again today in the Final. Colombia rolled past Bolivia 88:42 in the final game of the preliminary round. Rodrigo Caicedo (180-PG-88) and Jorge Salazar delivered 13 points each to pace the winning part. Julio Mendoza (PG-78) answered with 13 points for Bolivia.
COLOMBIA DEFEATED ECUADOR IN ODESUR. - Mar 14, 2014
Colombia defeated easily a weak Ecuatorian team in its second game in the Odesur games, the national team use his size to take control of the boards making 41 points in low or high post plays, but also took advantge of the Ecuador turnovers scoring 26 points out them, however again the young Aguilas de Tunja point guard Leonardo Salazar was the scoring leader with 17 points, among the big guys Freddy Asprilla (208-F-88, college: Canisius) had 16 points , Beyckar Aguaslimpias finished with a double doubl of 12 pts and 12 rebounds With a 38 points lead at the end of the third quarter Colombia had enough time to its youngs to show their skills, Yildon Mendoza and Adres Ibarguen played 4 minutes each . Colombia will face the real challenge playing against the locals Chile, the victory could mean the silver medal.

COLOMBIA FALL AGAINST ARGENTINA IN THE ODESUR GAMES - Mar 13, 2014
Colombia national team started against Argentina in the Odesur games falling 74 43, the national coach idea of start with 3 big men and just two guards did not work and the Argentinas offense took a 20 11 lead at the end of the first quarter. Colombia switched to a more traditional 3 perimeter and two post up players, but the offensive production keep falling in the second quarter in wich Colombia scored just 2 points in the first 6 minutes to finish with 9 in the period, however the young Leonardo Salazar had his chance to use his quickness to help the team The second half was not too different Colombia has problems to drive the ball against the Argentinas half court defese and the turnovers start to kill the team soul, the colombian post up players spent too much time far from the basket and the systems did not work to put them in a better situation, Norbey Aragon (194-F/G-78, college: Georgia SW) was the best colombian in the game Argentina achieved an easy victory against a colombian team that did not had training before.
