LPB Round 1 of Finals. Panteras capture the title - Nov 28, 2016

Panteras - Halcones 76-74

Panteras celebrated LPB title. They narrowly defeated Halcones in an exciting Final game on Sunday. Shayra Brown sank two free throws late in regulation to seal the victory and title for Panteras. They took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Halcones won third quarter 21-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Panteras won last quarter 26-25. 28 personal fouls committed by Halcones helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Shayra Brown (175-92, college: Boston Coll.) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Kiley Herold (185, college: MidAmerica Naz.) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Center Veronica Vega (-90) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and the former international Maritzenia Bedoya added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
