Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most interesting game of round 9 was a home defeat of 4th placed Panteras (5-4) to second ranked Correcaminos (6-3) 87-75 in the game for the second place. Correcaminos outrebounded Panteras 49-38 including 37 on the defensive glass. Center Jaime Lloreda (204-80, college: LSU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and Dominican center Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Alejandro Grant (199-93) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Panteras' coach Adriano Macias rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Correcaminos maintains second place with 6-3 record having just two points less than leader Caballos. Panteras at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Universitarios.
Very significant was Caballos' (#1, 8-1) victory against 3rd placed Halcones (5-4) 85-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Halcones. American-Puerto Rican forward Angel Matias (193-92, college: Georgia South) nailed 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Miguel Evangelista accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St.) came up with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for Halcones in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caballos (8-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place. Defending champion Halcones keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with Panteras.
Toros has finally registered their first victory this season after eight consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Aguilas (2-7) 77-63 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was Joel Munoz who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Eddie Ishman who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds. Aguilas' coach tested ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toros maintains sixth place with 1-8 record. It was Aguilas' fifth loss in a row. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost.



Toros - Atletico Nacional 77-63

Toros has finally registered their first victory this season after eight consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Aguilas (2-7) 77-63 on Tuesday. Toros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Joel Munoz (183-80) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 assists. Gil Atencio (202-96, college: St.Clair) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Toros players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Eddie Ishman (196-86, college: Miles) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and Jonathan King (193-90, college: Abil.Christian) added 6 points and 8 assists respectively. Very significant was Caballos' (#1, 8-1) victory against 3rd placed Halcones (5-4) 85-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Halcones. Caballos dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Halcones' 40. American-Puerto Rican forward Angel Matias (193-92, college: Georgia South) nailed 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Dominican center Miguel Evangelista (210-91) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St.) came up with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American-Guyanese center Travis George (206-85, college: Los Angeles CC, agency: Interperformances) added 17 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Halcones in the defeat.
