Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Panamanians who are currently playing abroad.

Akil Mitchell
Akil Mitchell
#1. This week's number one is an international forward Akil Mitchell (206-92, college: Virginia, currently plays in Balkan League). He led his Israeli team Rishon to a victory over the closely-ranked Beer Sheva (0-2) 96-85 in the Balkan League in Saturday night's game. Mitchell was MVP of the game. He scored 25 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 30 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion (1-1) is placed second in the Balkan League. The First Round already ended in the Balkan League. It's Mitchell's first season with the team. Mitchell has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 21.5ppg, 13.5rpg, 3.0apg, 2FGP: 62.5%(15-24) and FT: 72.2% in two games he played so far. Mitchell is a naturalized American. He is currently a member of the Panamanian senior national team. Strangely Mitchell has never played in Panama.

Josimar Ayarza
Josimar Ayarza
#2. Second place goes to an experienced international forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: Southern Miss, currently plays in Mexico). He could not help the league outsider Correcaminos (0-15) in their last game on Friday. Despite Ayarza's very good performance the sixth-placed Correcaminos (0-15) was crushed 113-82 at home by the second-ranked Dorados in the East group. He was the top scorer with 26 points. Ayarza also added 7 rebounds. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Ayarza has very high stats. He averages: 16.9ppg, 5.0rpg, 2FGP: 46.2%, 3FGP: 34.8% and FT: 79.3%. Ex-Aguilas de Rio Abajo Panama City player is in the roster of the Panamanian senior national team.

Daniel Giron
Daniel Giron
#3. The Panamanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international shooting guard Daniel Giron (192-89, currently plays in Mexico). Giron was not able to help Aaguacateros in their game against Soles (11-5) in the Mexican LNBP (second division). He scored 5 points. Aaguacateros was defeated 104-95 on the road by the second-ranked Soles in the West group. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Giron's overall stats this season are: 7.9ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 57.4%(27-47) and FT: 88.2%. He is also a member of the Panamanian senior national team.

Javier Carter
Javier Carter
#4. Center Javier Carter (203-91, college: USA, currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Akita Happinets (4-3) in their game against Ryukyu GK (5-2) in the Japanese B1 League. Carter scored only 4 points in 14 minutes. Akita Happinets (#6) lost 76-82 in Okinawa to the second-ranked Ryukyu GK in the East group. It was Akita Happinets' third consecutive loss in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Carter's overall stats are: 8.3ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.3spg in four games. He is a naturalized American. Carter is also Panamanian national team player. He used to play for Caballos de Cocle Aguadulce in Panamanian league.

One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Panamanian passport:

#1. Anell Alexis (200-PF-90, college: Marist, currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in Schwelm's victory against the ninth-ranked SSV Lok Bernau (0-1) 78-70 in the German ProB (third division) on Saturday night. Alexis recorded 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 30 minutes. It was his first game for Schwelm this season. His team is placed fourth in North group. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Alexis is a naturalized American. He used to play for Caballos de Cocle Aguadulce in Panamanian league.
