LPB Round 2: Correcaminos defeat Dragones- September 9, 2021
There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LPB. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Dragones - Correcaminos 56-61 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Dragones in Panama City on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Correcaminos 61-56. Correcaminos outrebounded Dragones 44-33 including 31 on the defensive glass. International forward Michael Hicks (196-76, college: TAMUCC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Jaime Lloreda (204-80, college: LSU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Correcaminos' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Joel Munoz (183-80) replied with 10 points and 9 assists and forward Pablo Rivas (198-94, college: NCCU) added 13 points in the effort for Dragones. Correcaminos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dragones' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Panama City Panteras. Panteras upset home team edging them after exciting game by three points 78-75. Caballos were very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Panteras forced 23 Caballos turnovers. Strangely Caballos outrebounded Panteras 55-33 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dominican point guard Raimer Santana (183-97) scored 26 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Luis Dinolis (185-93, college: Broward CC) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Panteras' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized American Adalberto Rojas (195-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 23 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Orlando Ortega (200-81) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
