Jaime Lloreda gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPB- September 15, 2021
The 41-year old center had a double-double of 24 points and nineteen rebounds, while his team edged out Universitarios (#4, 2-2) 80-78. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Correcaminos maintains the 2nd position in Panamanian LPB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Correcaminos already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. Lloreda turned to be Correcaminos' top player in his first season with the team. Louisiana State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Lloreda leads league in rebounds with 14.0rpg. Lloreda is in league's top in and averages solid 56.3% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old forward Pablo Rivas (198-F-94) of Dragones. Rivas impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Dragones to another comfortable win outscoring Toros (#7, 0-4) 78-57. Dragones' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Rivas is a newcomer at Dragones and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 5.5rpg and 3.3apg. North Carolina Central University alumni Rivas played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The third best performed player last round was former international forward Josimar Ayarza (205-PF-87) of Caballos (#6). Ayarza got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . Despite Ayarza's great performance Caballos lost 78-88 to slightly higher-ranked Universitarios (#4, 2-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Caballos can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Ayarza he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Ayarza has a very solid season. In 2 games in Panama he scored 34.0ppg. Other top performing players last week: 4. Eugenio Luzcando (187-G-95) of Universitarios - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists 5. Bryan Flores) of Atletico Nacional - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
