Ashley Reid gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPB (by Hoops Agents)- November 1, 2021
The 23-year old guard got a double-double of 17 points and fourteen assists, while her team crushed Atletico (#6, 1-7) with 21-point margin 83-62. Panteras maintains the 2nd position in Panamanian LPB. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Panteras will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Reid had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. She turned to be Panteras' top player in her first season with the team. Wichita State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Reid is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.0ppg), assists (2nd best: 4.0apg) and averages solid 5.0spg and 66.7% from behind 3-point line. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Panteras' star - 29-year old Ecuadorian Lucia Garrido (C/F-92). Garrido impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds. Of course together with Reid she helped Panteras with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Atletico (#6, 1-7) 83-62. Panteras' second position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 6-2 record is not bad at all. Garrido is a newcomer at Panteras and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#1). She also registered 13.0 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was Ecuadorian Liliana Angulo (183-C/F-90) of top-ranked Correcaminos. Angulo scored 23 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Correcaminos, leading her team to a 64-47 easy win against the lower-ranked Aguilas (#5, 2-5). Correcaminos have amazing season winning all 7 games without a single defeat. Angulo turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. The season just started for Angulo as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader. Other top performing players last week: 4.
