Crismar Rojas gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPBF (by Hoops Agents)

Venezuelan Crismar Rojas (G) had a great game in the last round for Universitarias de Panama and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The guard had the game-high 32 points adding eight rebounds and two assists for LA U in her team's victory, helping them to beat Felinas (#1, 9-1) 69-57. Universitarias maintains the 5th position in Panamanian LPBF. LA U is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-6 record. In the team's last game Rojas had a remarkable 56.0% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Universitarias, through which she has constantly improved. Rojas has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.7ppg) and averages solid 2.5spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Ashley Reid (165-G-1998) of Club Deportivo Panteras. Reid impressed basketball fans with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course she led Panteras to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Artesanas (#6, 3-9) 72-48. Panteras' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Reid is a newcomer at Panteras and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.3ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 6.3rpg and 3.8apg.

The third best performed player last round was another LA U's star - Diobelis Batista (167-G/F-2005). Batista showcased her all-around game by recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Universitarias de Panama, helping her team with a 73-71 win against the higher-ranked Correcaminos (#2, 8-3). The chances of Universitarias ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Batista could help LA U to bring them higher in the standings. Batista has a great season in Panama. After 11 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.5ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 9.4rpg (6th best).
