Trevor Gaskins gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPB (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced Naturalized American Point guard Trevor Gaskins (188-PG-89) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Correcaminos and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 32-year old playmaker had the game-high 26 points adding four rebounds and seven assists for Correcaminos in his team's victory, helping them to beat Atletico Nacional (#4, 8-7) 90-81. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Correcaminos to consolidate first place in the Panamanian LPB. Correcaminos have a solid 13-3 record. In the team's last game Gaskins had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Correcaminos' top player in his first season with the team. Louisiana Tech University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gaskins is in league's top in assists (8th best: 6.0apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old Dominican Rep. forward Cristian Joan Duran (201-F-96) of Panteras. Duran impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Panteras was edged by the higher-ranked Universitarios (#2, 12-3) 77-73. Panteras is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Duran is a newcomer at Panteras and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.2ppg (#8). He also registered 9.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Correcaminos' star - Cuban Adriano Barreras (186-G-89). Barreras scored 27 points and passed five assists. He was another key player of Correcaminos, helping his team with a 90-81 win against #4 ranked Atletico Nacional in a game of the week. Correcaminos confirms their top position in the standings. Barreras has a very solid season. In 7 games in Panama he scored 19.9ppg. He also has 5.7apg, FGP: 65.1% and 3PT: 57.1%.
