Ezequiel Bell gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPB

Talented Ezequiel Bell (202-C-99) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Correcaminos and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 22-year old center had a double-double of 19 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat Toros (#7, 0-18), the league's bottom-ranked team 72-58. It allowed Correcaminos to consolidate first place in the Panamanian LPB. Correcaminos have a solid 15-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Bell as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Ezequiel Bell averages this season 2.8ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old American power forward Anell Alexis (200-PF-90) of Universitarios. Alexis impressed basketball fans with 34 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Universitarios was edged by the lower-ranked Caballos (#6, 4-14) 98-97. Universitarios managed to keep the same 3rd spot in the standings. His team's 12-6 record is not bad at all. Alexis is a newcomer at Universitarios and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.2ppg (#2). The third best performed player last round was Amilcar Sanchez (192-SG) of Caballos (#6). Sanchez scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Caballos, leading his team to a 98-97 win against the higher-ranked Universitarios (#3, 12-6). Caballos can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-14 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Sanchez has a very solid season. In 5 games in Panama he scored 15.0ppg.
