Atletico Nacional - Caballos 59-57 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Caballos in Panama City on Friday night. Visitors were edged by Atletico 59-57. Atletico forced 20 Caballos turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Jonathan King (193-1990, college: ACU) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized American Adalberto Rojas (200-1986) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Michael Hicks (196-1976, college: TAMUCC) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Gil Atencio (202-1996, college: St.Clair) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Caballos. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lobos managed to get a 12-point victory 72-60. Costa Rican swingman Daniel Shedden (191-1996, college: MSUB) nailed 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and center Jesus Lombardo (201-2000) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds. Arturo Molina (182-2003) came up with 9 points and 7 rebounds and center Nicolas Arosemena (209-1994) added 12 points respectively for Halcones in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lobos will again meet Halcones in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. At the losing side American Antonio Austin (196-1991, college: SDCC) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Jose Luis Osio (165) scored 15 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Centinelas players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Halcones will play against Lobos in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Centinelas will play against Caballos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
