LA U - Leonas 68-59 Leonas recorded a loss in Panama City on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by LA U 68-59. LA U forced 21 Leonas turnovers. Mariangel Winnubsts (168-2007) fired 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Diobelis Batista (167-2005) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. LA U's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Worth to mention a great performance of Salvadorean swingman Yurizell Funes (175-2001) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Venezuelan point guard Nathaly Malpica (161) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Natasha Villar (178) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks and Colombian forward Paola Rivas (178) added 16 points and 21 rebounds in the effort for Cobras. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
