Nelly Rapalo
23-year old forward Nelly Rapalo (173-F-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Amazonas and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
She had the game-high 26 points adding eight rebounds and nine assists for Amazonas in her team's victory, helping them to crush Felinas (#5, 1-3) with 19-point margin 88-69. Amazonas maintains the 2nd position in Panamanian LPBF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Amazonas will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Rapalo had a remarkable 92.3% from 2-point range. She turned to be Amazonas' top player in her first season with the team. Rapalo has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.5ppg and is league's best passer with 6.8apg. Rapalo is in league's top in and averages solid 2.0bpg and 64.3% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Natasha Villar (178-C) of Cobras. She is a center in her first season at Cobras. In the last game Villar recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 18 rebounds. Of course she led Cobras to another comfortable win 71-53 over Felinas (1-3) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Villar is a newcomer at Cobras and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.6ppg (#7). She also registered 17.0 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Stephanie Portocarrero (F) of league's leader Leonas. Portocarrero scored 19 points and grabbed eighteen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Leonas, leading her team to a 86-57 easy win against #4 ranked LA U in a game of the week. Portocarrero has a great season in Panama. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (9th best).
