Chavez number one in Panama LPB for round 5 (by Hoops Agents)

Shooting guard Lucas Chavez (187-SG-1995) had a very impressive game in the last round for Centinelas, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Lobos (#3, 4-4) 84-80. Centinelas maintains the 5th position in Panamanian LPB. Centinelas is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 3-6 record. In the team's last game Chavez had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Centinelas' top player in his first season with the team. Lucas Chavez has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 19.8ppg), rebounds (7th best: 8.0rpg), assists (3rd best: 4.8apg) and averages impressive 53.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Costa Rican Victor Arias (197-PF-1995) of Lobos. Arias had a very good evening with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Lobos to edge the lower-ranked Universitarios (#6, 1-8) 72-70. This victory allowed Lobos to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 4-4 record is not bad at all. Arias is a newcomer at Lobos, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.4ppg (#6). He also registered 7.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Lobos' star - Costa Rican guard Isaac Conejo (182-PG-1994). Conejo showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Conejo's great performance Lobos lost 80-84 to slightly lower-ranked Centinelas (#5, 3-6). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Conejo has a great season in Panama. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.0apg (2nd best).
