Joel Munoz gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPB (by Hoops Agents)- October 31, 2022
The 42-year old playmaker got a double-double of 24 points and thirteen assists, while his team crushed Centinelas (#5, 3-7) with 22-point margin 89-67. It allowed Atletico Nacional to consolidate first place in the Panamanian LPB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Atletico Nacional still have not lost a single game, getting all 10 victories. In the team's last game Munoz had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Atletico Nacional's top player in his first season with the team. Munoz has impressive league stats. He is league's best passer with 6.9apg. Munoz is in league's top in and averages solid 3.1spg,55.4% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Costa Rican point guard Isaac Conejo (182-PG-1994) of second-ranked Lobos. Conejo impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 12 assists. It was enough for Lobos to edge slightly lower-ranked Caballos (#3, 5-5) by 3 points 95-92. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Lobos consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. Conejo is a newcomer at Lobos and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was another Lobos' star - Costa Rican Daniel Shedden (191-G/F-1996). Shedden scored 27 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Lobos, helping his team with a 69-65 win against #3 ranked Caballos. Shedden has a great season in Panama.
