Costa Rica overcame Panama 56-55 in El Salvador at the Central American Championship. Both teams exchanged the wins in the first half as Costa Rica led 2 points at the halftime. Panama reduced to just one after a 14-13 run, while both teams nailed 16 points each in the last stanza.
Daniela Quesada (168-G-1997, college: Salem) stepped up with 22 points and Ana Matamoros (190-C-1993) delivered 14. Ashley Reid (168-G, college: Louisiana Tech) replied with massive 30 points in the losing effort.
