Guillermo Navarro's triple-double lands him LPB U23 Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Point guard Guillermo Navarro (181-PG-2003) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Panama Metro U23 team, receiving a Hoops Agents LPB U23 Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 21-year old player recorded a triple-double of 17 points adding also 16 rebounds and 13 assists, while his team outclassed Herrera (#10, 3-12) with 33-point margin 105-72. Panama Metro maintains the 2nd position in Panamanian LPB U23. Panama Metro has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. Navarro turned to be Panama Metro's top player in his first season with the team. Guillermo Navarro has solid league stats. He is league's best passer with 8.9apg. Navarro is in league's top in and averages impressive 56.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Alexander Pile (198-PF) of Panama Este U23 team. Pile had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Panama Este to another comfortable win 83-68 over slightly lower-ranked Bocas Del Toro (#7, 8-8) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Panama Este to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Pile is a newcomer at Panama Este, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.6ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 14.3rpg and 3.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was center Jose Toruno (200-C-2002) of Veraguas U23 team (#5). Toruno scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Toruno's great performance the Veraguas lost 71-78 to the league's current leader Colon (#1, 16-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Veraguas needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 6 lost games. Toruno has a great season in Panama. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.8rpg (4th best). He also has 3.5bpg and a FGP of 54.4%.
