Guillermo Navarro gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPB U23

Talented Guillermo Navarro (181-PG-2003) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Panama Metro U23 team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents LPB U23 Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 21-year old playmaker got a double-double of 23 points and 10 assists, while his team outclassed Veraguas (#6, 9-8) with 30-point margin 94-64. Panama Metro maintains the 2nd position in Panamanian LPB U23. Panama Metro has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 13-1. In the team's last game Navarro had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Panama Metro's top player in his first season with the team. Navarro has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 15.5ppg) and averages solid 61.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Fernando Gonzalez (182-F-2004) of Cocle U23 team. Gonzalez impressed basketball fans with 38 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Cocle lost that game 91-100 to slightly lower-ranked Panama Este (#4, 9-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Cocle still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 12-7 record is not bad at all. Gonzalez is a newcomer at Cocle and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.2ppg (#4). He also registered 8.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Cocle's star - Joshua Lemon (180-G/F). Lemon showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Lemon's great performance the Cocle U23 team lost 91-100 to #4 ranked Panama Este. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Cocle needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 7 lost games. Lemon has a great season in Panama. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (3rd best) and assists with 3.8apg (6th best). He also has 3.8spg, 1.1bpg and a FGP of 58.1%.
