Talented Natasha Villar (178-C-2005) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Cobras and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 19-year old center had a double-double of 13 points and 18 rebounds, while her team beat Artesanas (#7, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 42-36. Cobras is placed at 5th position in Panamanian LPBF. Cobras is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Villar has many years of experience at Cobras, through which she has constantly improved. Villar has impressive league stats. She leads league in rebounds with 22.0rpg. Villar

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Venezuelan point guard Sofia Brandelik (196-PG-1998) of Aguilas de Rio Abajo. Brandelik impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Aguilas was edged by LA U (2-1) 56-55. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Brandelik is one of the most experienced players at Aguilas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Aguilas' star - Charity Alleyne (162-SG). Alleyne scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). Despite Alleyne's great performance the Aguilas de Rio Abajo lost 55-56 to LA U (#3, 2-1). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Aguilas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 2 games. Alleyne has individually a great season in Panama. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 18.5rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Crismar Rojas (G) of LA U - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Diobelis Batista (167-G/F-2005) of LA U - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Gloria Martinez (181-C) of Artesanas - 8 points and 9 rebounds
7. Soleimar Martinez (SF) of Cobras - 8 points and 9 rebounds
8. Cheliska Alvarado (180-F-2000) of Aguilas - 9 points and 8 rebounds
9. Charissa Hudson (194-C) of Aguilas - 4 points and 5 rebounds
10. Leanice Yearwood) of Cobras - 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
