Juliana Jimenez gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPBF

Colombian Juliana Jimenez (2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Artesanas and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 24-year old had a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Aguilas (#7, 0-7) with 19-point margin 59-40. Artesanas is placed at 5th position in Panamanian LPBF. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 6 games and had just two victories. In the team's last game Jimenez had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. She turned to be Artesanas' top player in her first season with the team. Jimenez has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 15.7ppg), assists (7th best: 3.4apg) and averages solid 3.0spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Venezuelan guard Crismar Rojas (G) of Universitarias de Panama. Rojas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as LA U lost that game 61-71 to the higher-ranked Panteras (#3, 6-2). This loss caused LA U to drop to 6th position in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories LA U managed to get this year. Rojas is one of the most experienced players at LA U and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#4). She also registered 9.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Angelica Racine (C) of Aguilas de Rio Abajo (#7). Racine scored 19 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). Despite Racine's great performance the Aguilas lost 40-59 to slightly higher-ranked Artesanas (#5, 2-6). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Aguilas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 7 games. Racine has individually a great season in Panama. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.5rpg (2nd best).
