Jhonny Murillo gets MVP of the Week award for Panamanian LPB (by Hoops Agents)

Jhonny Murillo had a very impressive game in the last round for Scorpions de Union Basketball and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The had the game-high 44 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for Union Scorpions in his team's victory, helping them to crush Dragonesxx' (#2, 7-3) with 18-point margin 107-89. Union Scorpions maintains the 6th position in Panamanian LPB. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Union Scorpions have already lost 9 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Murillo had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Union Scorpions' top player in his first season with the team. Murillo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.0ppg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American swingman C.J. Jones (198-G/F-1998) of second-ranked Dragones de Don Bosco. Jones impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Dragones to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Panteras (#5, 2-8) 75-55. Dragonesxx''s second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Jones is a newcomer at Dragonesxx' and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.5ppg (#3). He also registered 6.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Union Scorpions' star - Luis Poyatos (180-SF-2007). Poyatos showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Scorpions de Union Basketball, helping his team with a 107-89 easy win against the higher-ranked Dragonesxx' (#2, 7-3). Union Scorpions can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-9 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Poyatos has individually a great season in Panama. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.3ppg (9th best).
