Panama have won XII Central American Games

The XII Central American Games Guatemala 2025 featured an exciting 5x5 Women's Basketball Tournament, held from October 25 to 29, with teams from Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Costa Rica competing for regional supremacy. Panama captured the gold medal with an outstanding performance throughout the competition, while Costa Rica claimed silver and El Salvador took home the bronze. At the conclusion of the tournament, the All-Central America Women's Starting Five was announced, featuring Aylani Andrade Smith (El Salvador), Maria Gomez (Costa Rica), Maria Montero (180-C-2006) (Costa Rica), Lya Gonzalez (167-PG-2007) (Panama), and Destiny Patrick) (Panama), who was also named the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP). She collected 23 points and 14 rebounds in a 62-61 win over Costa Rica.
The event celebrated not only competitive excellence but also the continued growth and passion for women's basketball across Central America.
