Cerro Porteno played an outstanding game 4 against Sol de America Asuncion last monday to clinched game 4 and also to become the champion of the 8th NATIONAL LEAGUE CUP. Many thought Sol would come back after a great performance in game 3 but ii was clear that the effort Sol had to do to reach the Final Series and also the lack of a profound bench hurt the blue team too much.
Luis Oronos coaching presence became crucial for Cerros climbing to another level of game , especifically on defense. Offense eas very controlled by Dominican Manuel Guzman who netted 36 in game 4. Outstanding was Guzmans performance ever since his introduction to the team. He averaged 30.5 points in 12 games, giving Cerro great tranquility and deepnes into Sols defense.
Richard Ozuna and Ramon Sanchez were also very efective for Cerro, Richard Ozuna was crucial in games 1, 2, 3 and 4 even though Sol took game 3. Sanchez was not too stable, but had great explosions through th Series. Ramn Sanchez closed game 4 with 2 spectacular dinks to make all presents cheer loudly and stand on their feet.
Cerro legitimately became for the 2nd time in the year a champ closing a great year for th Barrio Obreros team.
