Libertad hit a third punch to take the Absolut Female championship after beating Felix Perez in a third game Series Final. The final score was 69-53 for Libertad due to a strong internal game by Karina Pea and also a great over all performance of Carolina Caravez, the best all around female player of this season.Libertad won the Metro League, and also the 1ST NATIONAL FEMALE LEAGUE concluding an excellent season.
Angel Vega , the winningest ever female coach did an excellent job grouping an great level of ladies, whi came from Olimpia and UCA. The over all serie ended up 3-0 for Libertad. Felix Perez gave fight in first and third games. They had chances to clinch at least 2 games, but their lack of experience played against them.
Diego Lopez , FPC coach did an excellent job , specially on defense. FPC was probavly the team that received the least points during the season.
Libertad became champion after 61 years. It is good to remember that Libertad won the first 2 championships of our history back in1949 and 1950
