Jemal Davis gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan LNB (by Hoops Agents)

U.S. Virgin Islands Jemal Davis (205-F) put on an amazing game in the last round for Deportivo Amambay and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The forward had the game-high 24 points adding eight rebounds and five assists for Amambay in his team's victory, helping them to beat Colonias (#3, 9-4) 85-70. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Amambay maintains the 4th position in Paraguayan LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Amambay will need more victories to improve their 7-5 record. In the team's last game Davis had a remarkable 90.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Amambay's top player in his first season with the team. University of North Carolina - Asheville graduate has very impressive stats this year. Davis is in league's top in points (2nd best: 17.0ppg), rebounds (4th best: 5.5rpg) and averages solid 68.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was James Resse of second-ranked Olimpia Kings. Resse impressed basketball fans with 24 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Olimpia K. to another comfortable win outscoring Capiata (#8, 0-13) 93-44. Olimpia K.'s second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 10-3 record is not bad at all. Resse is a newcomer at Olimpia K. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Amambay's star - Victor Da Costa. Da Costa scored 25 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was another key player of Deportivo Amambay, helping his team with a 85-70 easy win against #3 ranked Colonias in a game of the week. Amambay needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 5 lost games. Da Costa has a great season in Paraguay. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.7rpg (2nd best).
