The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Sol de America in Asuncion on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Colonias 105-56. Colonias dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Sol de America's 32. They outrebounded Sol de America 42-27 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Colonias looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Sol de America's players. Juan Poison orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Venezuelan point guard Edwin Mijares (186-1992) contributed with 18 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Alejandro Acosta replied with 16 points for Sol de America. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Libertad A. was smashed at home by 27 points 66-93 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The former international forward Fernando Dose (200-1994) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and Franco Benitez chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. The former international forward Jorge Sequera (194-1988) responded with 28 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ciudad N. was defeated at home 73-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Tobias Gomez notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort. Felix Perez's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 24 points by Francisco Bogarin did not help to save the game for Ciudad N..
