The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: Olimpia K. (#2) and Libertad A. (#5). Olimpia K. (5-2) smashed visiting Libertad A. (3-4) by 26 points 88-62. Olimpia K. forced 19 Libertad turnovers and outrebounded them 41-25 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Dwayne Russell (203-1998, college: St.Thomas, FL) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Juan Poisson who added 10 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. The former international center Alen Juarez (201-2000) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Colonias (5-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Olimpia K. Felix Perez at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Libertad.
