The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: San Jose (#3) and Ciudad N. (#8). Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Asuncion: Colonias (#2) and Felix Perez (#4). Colonias (9-2) smashed visiting Felix Perez (6-4) by 18 points 84-66. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Felix Perez. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Juan Poisson (198-1998) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and Samuel Givens who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Dominique Morrison (198-1989, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) with 19 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Colonias maintains second position with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Olimpia K., which they share with San Jose. Felix Perez at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Colonias' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion .

In the last game of round 12 winless Luqueno was beaten by Campo Alto on the road 75-65.




Campo Alto - Luqueno 75-65

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Campo Alto (3-8) beat bottom-ranked Luqueno (0-10) in Asuncion 75-65 on Monday. The winners were led by guard Karl Godans (190) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and Juan Marti supported him with 16 points. Even 17 points and 4 assists by Donatto Ferro did not help to save the game for Luqueno. Joao Lima added 9 points and 7 rebounds. Newly promoted Campo Alto maintains seventh position with 3-8 record. Loser Luqueno still closes the standings with ten games lost. Campo Alto will meet higher ranked San Alfonso (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Luqueno will play against Amambay and hopes to get finally their first victory.
