What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 8 in the LNB was a home defeat of 8th ranked San Alfonso (1-7) to seventh ranked Ciudad N. (2-6) 69-63. Ciudad N. forced 20 San Alfonso turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian Nelson Peralta (195-1992) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds and Lucas Bogado who added 15 points during the contest. Juan Martin responded with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ciudad N. moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Campo Alto. San Alfonso lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Ciudad N.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion San Jose.

The winners were led by Argentinian Hans Feder who scored that evening 27 points and 9 assists and Norbertas Giga supported him with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by Brazilian guard Osmar Ventura (190-2004) did not help to save the game for Amambay. Amambay's coach Ramon Baez tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Colonias have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with San Jose. Amambay lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. Colonias' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Felix Perez.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: Olimpia K. (#1) and Campo Alto (#6). Campo Alto was smashed at home by 21 points 61-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The best player for the winners was Rodney Mercado who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Olimpia K.'s coach Javier Martinez felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guillermo Araujo produced 20 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the hosts. Olimpia K. have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. Campo Alto lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Ciudad N.. Olimpia K. will meet at home Amambay (#5) in the next round. Campo Alto will play against San Alfonso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 8 San Jose won against Felix Perez on the opponent's court 71-61.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 13 points and 6 rebounds by Fernando Dose of San Jose.




Amambay - Colonias 86-89

Important game to mention about took place in . Third ranked Colonias (6-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Amambay (3-5) 89-86 on Wednesday evening.
