Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion:Olimpia K. (#1) and Campo Alto (#6). Campo Alto was smashed at home by 21 points 61-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Olimpia K. outrebounded Campo Alto 35-21 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international Rodney Mercado (191-1999) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Vincenzo Ochipinti (191-1999) chipped in 22 points. Olimpia K.'s coach Javier Martinez felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international center Guillermo Araujo (204-1982) produced 20 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Francisco Bogarin added 13 points respectively for the hosts.
