Piratas de Quebradillas (BSN) added to their roster 31-year old American forward Jamil Wilson (201cm-104kg-1990, college: Marquette) for new 2022 season. Wilson played last season at M.Rishon in Israeli Winner League. He managed to play in three leagues last year. In 13 Winner League games he recorded 8.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.7apg. Wilson helped them to make it to the Israeli Cup Semifinals. He also played for Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem (Winner League). The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In four Winner League games he averaged 6.0ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.0apg. Wilson also played 1 game in Balkan League where he got 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. And finally he contributed to 4 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 4.3ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.0apg. The other team he played shortly was RO Virtus (Serie A) in Italian league. But in only one game he got just point.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Wilson is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in seven different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. Wilson has played previously professionally in Germany (Brose Bamberg), Russia (Unics), NBA (Dallas Mavericks, LA Clippers and LA Lakers), Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros), Italy (Virtus Segafredo Bologna and Torino), NBA G League (Texas Legends, Fort Wayne Mad Ants and Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario) and The Basketball Tournament (Golden Eagles).
He graduated from Marquette University in 2014 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player.
On Wilson: A solid bodied combo forward with great athletic skills and good shooting range. Can spend time in both forward positions, has yet nice upside.
