Ponce inks Avry Holmes, ex Fuerza Regia

Avry Holmes

Leones de Ponce (BSN) agreed terms with 32-year old American guard Avry Holmes (185cm-88kg-1994, college: Clemson) for new 2026 season. He played last summer at Fuerza Regia in Mexican LNBP. In 43 games he had 14.4ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.6apg. He helped them to win the LNBP title. 2025-25 was a great season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP Second Team. Holmes also played for Spartans de Distrito Capital Caracas (SPB) in Venezuelan league.
In 2017 he was drafted by Santa Cruz Warriors (G-League) in third round (66th overall).
The former Clemson University standout is in his tenth season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Holmes' career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in six different countries. Holmes tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Latin America, Africa and of course North America. He has played professionally in Greece, Tunisia (US Monastir), Uruguay (Aguada), Venezuela (Panteras) and The Basketball Tournament (Power of the Paw).
Among many awards he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan SPB Honorable Mention back in 2023. Holmes played also for University of San Francisco for 2 years.
