Vaqueres de Bayamon celebrated BSN title. They rallied past Leones de Ponce in the fifth game of the championship series to lift the trophy. The game was mostly controlled by Vaqueros. Leones managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayamon forced 20 Ponce turnovers and outrebounded them 34-22 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Italian forward Danilo Gallinari (208-1988) stepped up and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and the former international guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. American guard Michael Devoe (196-1999, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Matt Mooney (189-1997, college: Texas Tech) scored 17 points. Four Ponce players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Ismael Romero, Cuban center from the Guaynabo Mets, earned the Domestic Player of the Year of Baloncesto Superior Nacional. He collected multiple other honors, was named to the First Team and Domestic Players Team. Romero previously picked up the Rookie of the Year back in 2016 and Best Sixth Man of the Year four times in the past. He orchestrated his way to the fifth spot in rebounds per game, showcasing a dazzling average of over 10. Romero also averaged almost 19 points per game in the league. He has totalled 15 games of 20 or more points and registered double-doubles in 16 games on the year. Romero's 36 points against Aguada were the most he scored in the 2025 season. Among many awards Romero's team won the Puerto Rican BSN Group B Regular Season for four years in a row ( between 2021 and 2024). The standout Dominican swingman Chris Duarte earned a spot in the First Team of the championship-winning the Bayamon Vaqueros. He Is an Oregon alumni from 2021. Duarte received multiple other awards, was voted to the Imports Team and Defensive Team. His excellent performance assisted his team in beating Ponce 4 to 1 in the final series. Duarte had over 18 points and almost 5 rebounds per game that season in the league. He has totalled 19 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 5 games. Duarte logged double-doubles in 3 games at the event. His 38 points against Ponce were the most he scored in the 2025 season. Among many awards he was selected to the NABC Division I All-District 19 First Team as well as the All-Defensive Team and the All-Americans Third Team back in 2021. He was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team back in 2022.
