Govan is back at G League Ignite, ex Mayaguez

G League Ignite agreed terms with 24-year old center Jessie Govan (6'11''-268lbs-97, college: Georgetown) for upcoming 2021-22 season. It is actually his comeback to Ignite as he has played here before. Govan played last summer at Indios de Mayaguez in Puerto Rican BSN league, but left the team in August. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 19 BSN games he had very impressive stats: 16.3ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.3apg. Govan ended the last season at Ignite where in 8 NBA-G-League games he recorded 7.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.0apg. But the most of that year he spent at Seoul Samsung Thunders in South Korean KBL. In 20 games he averaged 9.0ppg and 4.0rpg.
He has played also professionally in Japan (Kyoto Hannaryz).
Govan was voted to All-Big East 1st Team in 2019 at his college time.
He attended Georgetown University until 2019 and it will be his third season as a professional player.
