Cousins number one in Puerto Rico BSN for week 34

American DeMarcus Cousins (211-C/F-1990) had a great game in the last week for second-ranked Guaynabo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 34.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Bayamon (#1, 18-11) 101-100. Guaynabo maintains the 2nd position in their group in Puerto Rican BSN. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Guaynabo will need more victories to improve their 17-12 record. In the team's last game Cousins had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Guaynabo, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Kentucky star has very solid stats this year. Cousins is in league's top in points (4th best: 21.1ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.2rpg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg,58.8% FGP and 42.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last week's games was young American Hassan Whiteside (213-C-1989) of league's leader Quebradillas. Whiteside had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Quebradillas lost that game 84-89 to the lower-ranked Mayaguez (#4, 12-17). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. Quebradillas still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. His team has currently 19-8 record. Whiteside is one of the most experienced players at Quebradillas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.8ppg (#3). He also registered 14.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last week was American forward DJ Hogg (203-F-1996) of Mayaguez (#4). Hogg showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the last week. He was a key player of Mayaguez, leading his team to a 89-84 win against #1 ranked Quebradillas. The chances of Mayaguez ranking at the top of Group A, however are very questionable as they have already lost 17 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hogg could help Mayaguez to bring them higher in the standings. Hogg has a very solid season. In 11 games in Puerto Rico he scored 21.9ppg. He also has 6.0rpg, 3.4apg, 1.4bpg and FGP: 53.8%.

10. Victor Liz (190-SG-1986) of Arecibo - 18 points and 12 rebounds
