Guandong Tigers add Waters to their roster, ex Carolina

Tremont Waters

Guangdong Southern Tigers (CBA) added to their roster 25-year old American (has also Puerto Rican passport) point guard Tremont Waters (180cm-82kg-1998, college: LSU, agency: Shark Sports Management) for season 2023-24. Waters played this summer at Gigantes de Carolina in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 42 games just recently he recorded very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 2.7rpg, 6.5apg (top 4) and 2.0spg (in top 2). He helped them to win the league title. Quite impressive season as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Honorable Mention. The last season he played at Metropolitans in French Betclic ELITE ProA where in 23 games he was league's fifth best scorer with remarkable 18.2ppg and had 2.7rpg, 5.0apg and 2.0spg (leader !!!). It was another spectacular season as he was selected to French ProA All-Star Game and League Player of the Week.
In 2019 he was drafted by Boston Celtics (NBA) in second round (51st overall). The former Louisiana State University star is in his fifth season in pro basketball. Waters has been regularly called to Puerto Rican Senior National Team since 2022.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America) in four different countries. Waters has played previously professionally in USA, NBA (Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors), NBA G League (South Bay Lakers, Maine Celtics, Wisconsin Herd and Capital City Go-Go) and NBA Summer League (Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Rookie of the Year in 2022.
