Isaiah Pineiro (ex VEF Riga) signs at Palencia

Isaiah Pineiro

Newly promoted Zunder Palencia in the Liga Endesa has signed 28-year-old Puerto Rican international Isaiah Pineiro. Pineiro, a 201cm small forward, previously played for VEF Riga in the Latvian LBL league. In 16 games, he averaged 10.9ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.8apg, and 1.2spg. He also played 6 games in the Basketball Champions League, where he had 11.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.2apg, and 1.0spg. Last summer, he played for Piratas in Puerto Rico's BSN league. Pineiro has been a regular member of the Puerto Rican Senior National Team since 2019.
He's a highly experienced player who has traveled extensively throughout his professional career, playing in four different countries across three continents. He has previously played professionally for Darussafaka Lassa in Turkey, Atleticos in Puerto Rico, and the Stockton Kings in the NBA G League.
His team won the Puerto Rican BSN Group A Regular Season in 2023, among many other awards. He was also named to the WCC All-Tournament Team in 2019.
He graduated from the University of San Diego in 2019, and this is his fifth season in professional basketball. He also played for other colleges such as Portland State University and Sierra College.
