The 2025 BSN offseason heated up during Christmas with many teams actively shaping their front offices, rosters and coaching staff.
Bayamon has been one of the most active teams this offseason as they have music promoter Eric Duars as one of the franchise holders. He quickly named former player and current national team general manager Carlos Arroyo as President of Basketball Operations. The team started by naming Christian Dalmau head coach, while adding Larry Ayuso and Jorge Rincon to their coaching staff. The first trade made by Bayamon was with sending Kyle Rose, EJ Crawford and Chris Brady to San German for Josue Erazo, Luis Hernandez and a 2025 second round pick. Then they sent Josue Erazo and Luis Cuascut to Mayaguez for national team forward Jordan Cintron (203-F-1998, college: Niagara, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited). The team added depth in their perimeter by adding shooter Raymond Cintron for a 2025 second round pick. Some of their reserves include veteran Javier Mojica, Isaiah Palermo, Stephen Thompson Jr. and DeMarcus Cousins. Santurce is also rebuilding their roster with new team President, Rolando Hourruitiner and General Manager, Edgar Padilla. One of their first moves was to sign Nelson Colon as their head coach. Colon has four championships in BSN, being his last with Bayamon in 2022. The team quickly extended guard Angel Rodriguez to a five-year deal and added Devon Collier from free agency with a multi-year deal. After acquiring Kyle Vinales from Mayagüez, they quickly sent him to Quebradillas for a first round pick swap either in 2026 or 2027. Their last trade was acquiring Benito Santiago Jr. and a 2028 first round pick from Guaynabo in exchange for Emmy Andujar. Mayagüez also got a new coach by signing Ivan Velez. This offseason they agreed to release Christian Dalmau from his contract to facilitate his move to become the new head coach of Bayamon. From free agency they added veterans Jonathan Garcia and Kleon Penn. Their biggest trade was with Bayamon as they sent Jordan Cintron for Josue Erazo and Luis Cuascut. After Juan Cardona couldn’t confirm his availability for 2025, the team decided to sign Allans Colon as their new head coach. Cardona is evaluating an offer from Quebradillas as he continues to be an assistant coach in Southern Miss. The next key events are the BSN Draft on January 29 and the start of the 2025 season on March 15. |
