Duarte number one in Puerto Rico BSN for week 19

Dominican Rep. Swingman Chris Duarte (197-G/F-1997) had a great game in the last week for top-ranked Vaqueros de Bayamon, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 19.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (35 points, nine rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Guaynabo (#5, 8-14) 92-89. It allowed Vaqueros to consolidate first place in the Puerto Rican BSN. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Bayamon has a very solid 18-6 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Duarte had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He just recently signed at Vaqueros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Oregon star has very solid stats this year. Duarte is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.7ppg) and averages impressive 57.3% FGP.

The second best player in last week's games was young American Bryce Cotton (182-G-1992, agency: Pensack Sports) of Mets de Guaynabo. Cotton had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 10 assists. Bad luck as Mets lost that game 99-111 to slightly higher-ranked Caguas (#3, 11-10). Guaynabo managed to keep the same 5th spot in Group B. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-14 record. Cotton is one of the most experienced players at Guaynabo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.8ppg (#8). He also recorded 5.3 assists per game.

Third on the list of top players last week was American forward Louis King (201-F-1999) of Criollos de Caguas (#3). King got into 30-points club by scoring 38 points in the last week. He went also for nine rebounds . He was a key player of Criollos, leading his team to a 111-99 win against slightly lower-ranked Guaynabo (#5, 8-14). Caguas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group B. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 10 lost games. King has a very solid season. In 13 games in Puerto Rico he scored 15.8ppg. He also has 4.7rpg, 3.2apg and a FGP of 54.5%.

7. Jarell Eddie (201-F-1991) of Aguada - 32 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Darius Bazley (206-F-2000) of Ponce - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Alex Morales (198-G-1997) of Manati - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Emmanuel Mudiay (196-G-1996) of Quebradillas - 17 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists
