Romero number one in Puerto Rico BSN for week 25

Naturalized Cuban Center Ismael Romero (205-C-1991) had a very impressive game in the last week for Mets de Guaynabo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 25.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 36 points and 17 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Aguada (#6, 10-17) 119-123. Mets maintains the 5th position in their group in the Puerto Rican BSN. Guaynabo is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 20th lost game this season out of 29 games. In the team's last game Romero had a remarkable 76.5% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Mets, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Ismael Romero has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 18.0ppg), rebounds (6th best: 9.9rpg) and averages impressive 64.5% FGP.

The second best player in last week's games was young Italian Danilo Gallinari (208-F-1988) of league's leader Vaqueros de Bayamon. Gallinari had a very good evening with 39 points and 3 rebounds. Of course Vaqueros cruised to a 87-76 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Guaynabo (#5, 9-20). Of course Bayamon still keep Group B's top spot. His team has currently 22-8 record. Gallinari is one of the most experienced players at Bayamon and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#4). He also registered 6.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last week was Canadian forward Alexander Kappos (208-F/C-1997) of Criollos de Caguas (#3). Kappos scored 27 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Criollos, leading his team to a 91-82 win against slightly lower-ranked San German (#5, 13-16). Caguas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group B. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 12 lost games. Kappos has a very solid season. In 27 games in Puerto Rico he scored 13.2ppg. He also has a FGP of 79.5% and 3PT: 47.1%. Alexander Kappos has also Puerto Rican passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

8. Akil Mitchell (206-C-1992) of Caguas - 11 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Jordan Murphy (200-F/C-1997) of Ponce - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Kristian Doolittle (201-F-1997) of Carolina - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
