The Regular Season in BSN just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Indios (21-13) in Mayaguez on Monday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Cangrejeros (22-12) 96-95. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Indios. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Santurce looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) who saved his team from a defeat with 19 points and 9 assists. Naturalized American forward Tyler Polo (201-1987, college: CS Los Angeles) contributed with 17 points for the winners. point guard Jonathan Garcia (183-1987) replied with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for Mayaguez. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Santurce maintains second position with 22-12 record having just two points less than leader Mayaguez. Mayaguez at the other side still keeps top place with 13 games lost.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Criollos (18-16) against sixth ranked Osos (8-26) on Friday night. Visiting Criollos were defeated by Osos in a tough game in Manati 94-101. Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Logan Johnson chipped in 18 points and 9 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Anthony Morales (203-2000, college: Kent St.) with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osos have a solid four-game winning streak. Manati maintains sixth position with 8-26 record. Caguas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Ponce and Arecibo.

American players dominated the game. Brandon Boyd notched a double-double by scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the effort. Even 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by John Jenkins did not help to save the game for Santurce. Cangrejeros' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Guaynabo maintains fifth position with 13-21 record. Loser Cangrejeros keeps the second place with 12 games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 30: Ponce smashed Aguada on the road 113-84. Aguada lost to Arecibo on its own court 76-87. Manati was outscored by Ponce in a road game 79-99. Guaynabo managed to beat Carolina at home 108-103. San German was defeated by Arecibo on the opponent's court 99-95.
The most impressive performance of 30th round was 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by Antonio Gordon of San German.



Aguada - Ponce 84-113

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Leones (18-16) crushed 6th ranked Santeros (11-23) in Aguada 113-84 on Thursday. Ponce shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Aguada's players. American guard Michael Devoe (196-1999, college: Georgia Tech) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Brady Manek (206-1998, college: UNC) supported him with 18 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 16 points and 18 rebounds by international center Arnaldo Toro (203-1997, college: St.John's) did not help to save the game for Aguada. American John Meeks (197-1999, college: Charleston) added 27 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leones have a solid four-game winning streak. Ponce maintains third position with 18-16 record having six points less than leader Mayaguez, which they share with Arecibo and Caguas. Aguada lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 23 games lost.
