Galatasaray Ekmas Istanbul (BSL) strengthened their roster with addition of 26-year old American small forward John Meeks (197cm-104kg-1999, college: Charleston) for season 2025-26. Meeks played this summer at Santeros de Aguada in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 8 games just recently he recorded very impressive stats: 20.1ppg, 4.1rpg and 2.4apg. The last season he played at Bnei Hertzeliya in Israeli Winner League where in 29 games he averaged remarkable 16.1ppg, 4.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.0spg. He helped them to make it to the Israeli Winner Cup Semifinals. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week.
Three years ago he was drafted by South Bay Lakers (G-League) in second round (17th overall).
Meeks graduated from College of Charleston in 2022 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball.
He has played previously professionally in Finland (Kouvot) and Holland (Groningen). His team made it to the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals in 2020 and 2021. Meeks selected toTimes-News All-Region selection and Player of the Year back in 2016 and 2017. He played also for Bucknell University for 4 years.
