Defending champion KK Buducnost VOLI Podgorica (Erste Liga) inked 30-year old American 208cm power forward James Thompson IV (college: EMU) for upcoming season. Thompson played this summer at Leones de Ponce in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 18 games just recently he recorded 9.3ppg and 7.2rpg. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week. The last season he played at Jiangsu Dragons in Chinese CBA where in 46 games he averaged impressive 15.7ppg, 10.9rpg and 1.8apg.
He is a very experienced player. Thompson has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in France (Cholet Basket), Germany (Telekom Baskets), Israel (Hapoel Haifa), Italy (Montegranaro), Russia (Enisey and Samara) and South Korea (Samsung Thunders). Thompson was also selected to MAC All-Defensive Team back in 2018 and 2019.
His team was regular season runner-up in MAC West Division in 2018.
He graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2019 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
